Volume Units – Set Imperial And Metric Volume Units
Volume Unit Settings let you define whether cubic volume is measured in Imperial or Metric units throughout your Route4Me account. Selecting a preferred unit ensures consistency across routes, orders, Capacity Profiles, exports, and related account data. This document explains how to manage your Volume Unit preference and where it takes effect across Route4Me. You will also learn how this setting influences the volume values displayed in different areas of your account.

Manage Volume Units In Your Account
To access Volume Unit settings, click “Settings” > “Account Settings” from the Navigation Menu, then open the “Preferences” tab. From the “Measurement System” field, select “Imperial” or “Metric” and click “Save“.
Next, click “Settings” > “Organization Settings” from the Navigation Menu and open the “Company Profile” tab. From the “Volume Unit Type” field, select your preferred Volume Type and click “Save“.
- Liquid Volume – calculated in Gallons (Imperial) or Liters (Metrics)
- Solid Volume – calculated in Cubic Feet (Imperial) or Cubic Meters (Metric)

View Selected Volume Unit Across Your Account
Your preferred Volume Unit is automatically applied wherever volume values appear in your account. The following examples show some, but not all, of the areas where this setting takes effect.
Routes Filters – Filter Routes By Cubic Volume
When filtering routes by cubic volume from your Routes List, the unit of measurement reflects your Imperial or Metric preference set in Account Settings.
Route Destination Export – Cubic Volume Units In Exported Destination Data
When exporting Route Destination Data from your Routes Page, cubic volume values are exported in your preferred unit. Solid Volume appears as Cubic Feet (Imperial) or Cubic Meters (Metric), reflecting the preference configured in your Account Settings.
Destination Info Panel – Cubic Volume Per Route Stop
From the Destination Info Panel of the Route Editor, cubic volume for each destination is displayed in your preferred unit – Cubic Feet (Imperial) or Cubic Meters (Metric) – as configured in Account Settings.
NOTE: Cubic Volume amounts displayed in Route Snapshots also reflect your configured setting.
Order Export – Volume Units In Exported Order Data
When exporting Orders, Route4Me automatically applies your Imperial or Metric preference to all volume data in the exported file, displaying Liquid Volume in Gallons or Liters and Solid Volume in Cubic Feet or Cubic Meters.
Capacity Profile – Maximum Cubic Volume Per Vehicle
In Capacity Profiles, the Max Cube field defines the maximum cubic volume a vehicle can carry. Values are entered and displayed in your preferred unit – Cubic Feet (Imperial) or Cubic Meters (Metric) – as configured in Account Settings.
Business Insights – Volume Units In Data Table
From Business Insights, you can configure your data table to include cube-related columns, all displayed in Cubic Feet (Imperial) or Cubic Meters (Metric), consistent with your Account Settings.
