Dispatch Routes to Vehicles – Assign Vehicles to Routes

Route4Me provides flexible vehicle settings that allow you to design detailed vehicle descriptions that can best accommodate the particular needs of your business or unique business model. By assigning vehicles to routes, you can easily track how much fuel has been consumed by each assigned vehicle, let drivers know which vehicle they are required to use for completing a particular route, and so on. Moreover, with Route4Me’s detailed vehicle descriptions and advanced team management tools, regardless of the size of your vehicle fleet and the number of members in your team, you can effortlessly coordinate the assignment of hundreds of different members and vehicles to hundreds of thousands of different routes.
Assigning Vehicles to Planned Routes from the Routes List
To assign vehicles to planned routes in the Routes List, first, go to “Routes List” from the navigation menu.
Next, click on the gear icon next to the route to which you want to assign a vehicle and then select “Assign Vehicle” from the route’s menu.
After that, select the vehicle that you want to assign to the route from the list of all vehicles associated with your Route4Me account and then click on the “Apply” button to finish. By default, you can assign only those vehicles to routes that are associated with your Route4Me account (learn more). To learn more about the Company Visibility settings, visit this page.
Once the vehicle is assigned to the route, this vehicle’s alias is displayed in the “Vehicle” column next to the corresponding route in the Routes List.
To assign one vehicle to multiple routes, first, select multiple routes in the Routes List by checking the corresponding boxes. After that, go to “Edit” and then select “Assign Vehicle” from the menu.
Next, select the vehicle that you want to assign to the selected routes from the list of all vehicles associated with your Route4Me account and then click on the “Apply” button to finish.
Once the vehicle is assigned to multiple routes, this vehicle’s alias is displayed in the “Vehicle” column next to the corresponding routes in the Routes List. NOTE: When assigning one vehicle to multiple routes, make sure that these routes are scheduled for different days or time to avoid schedule overlaps.
Assigning Vehicles to Planned Routes from the Route Editor
To assign a vehicle to the route opened in the Route Editor, first, open this route in the Route Editor from the Routes List or the Routes Map. Next, go to “Edit” and then select “Assign Vehicle” from the menu.
After that, select the vehicle that you want to assign to the route from the list of all vehicles associated with your Route4Me account and then click on the “Apply” button to finish.
Once the vehicle is assigned to the route, in the Route Editor, the vehicle’s alias is displayed in the header of the Summary Table.
Assigning Vehicles to Planned Routes from the Routes Map
To assign vehicles to planned routes from the Routes Map, first, go to “Routes Map” from the navigation menu.
Next, click on the gear icon next to the route to which you want to assign a vehicle and then select “Assign Vehicle” from the route’s menu.
After that, select the vehicle that you want to assign to the route from the list of all vehicles associated with your Route4Me account and then click on the “Apply” button to finish.
Once the vehicle is assigned to the route, this vehicle’s alias is displayed in the “Vehicle” column next to the corresponding route on the Routes Map.

Once the vehicle is assigned to multiple routes, this vehicle’s alias is displayed next to the corresponding routes on the Routes Map. NOTE: When assigning one vehicle to multiple routes, make sure that these routes are scheduled for different days or time to avoid schedule overlaps.
Depending on the “Active” settings of the vehicles in your fleet, some vehicles can be hidden from the list when assigning vehicles to routes. When a vehicle is set to “Active” in this vehicle’s settings, this vehicle is available to be assigned to routes (learn more).
When a vehicle is NOT set to “Active” in this vehicle’s settings, this vehicle is NOT available to be assigned to routes.
