Assigning Users and Vehicles to Your Routes

Route4Me provides multiple route dispatching options for your convenience and flexibility of your business activities. You can easily assign a particular User or Vehicle to any route – when planning it or when it is already planned. When you assign a User to a specific route, this User is able to view and modify the corresponding route from the Route4Me’s Website as well as Route4Me’s Android and iOS mobile applications. Please NOTE that assigning a User to a route is different from “Sharing a Route,” as the latter sends out an email with the route’s information (link to the route, brief manifest, etc.) to the specified email address.

 

Assigning a User and a Vehicle When Specifying the Route Parameters

You can assign a User and/or a Vehicle to a route in the process of specifying its parameters. This action is especially recommended when you are planning a route for a single driver or multiple routes for the same driver. First, go to the “User” tab when specifying the route parameters. Next, select the Vehicle that you want to assign to the route from the corresponding drop-down list.

Then, select the User that you want to assign to the route from the “Assign to User” drop-down list. To finish, proceed to plan and optimize the route respectively.

The “Add New Vehicle” option allows you to add more Vehicles to your fleet. The “Manage Users” option allows you to view and manage all available Users.

 

Once you planned and optimized the route, you can view the assigned Vehicle and User in the corresponding columns in the Routes List.

Assigning a User to a Route from the Routes List

To assign a User to a route, first, go to your Routes List. In the Routes List, click on the gear icon next to the route to which you want to assign the User, and then select the corresponding option. Alternatively, click on the “Assign User” button in the “User” column in the Routes List.

Then, select the User that you want to assign to the route from the drop-down list and click “Apply.”

Once you assigned the User to the route, the email address of the assigned User is displayed next to the route’s name and in the “User” column in the Routes List.

Assigning a Vehicle to a Route from the Routes List

To assign a Vehicle to a route, first, go to your Routes List. In the Routes List, click on the gear icon next to the route to which you want to assign the Vehicle, and then select the corresponding option. Alternatively, click on the “Assign Vehicle” button in the “Vehicle” column in the Routes List.

Then, select the Vehicle that you want to assign to the route from the drop-down list and click “Apply.”

Once you assigned the Vehicle to the route, the name of the assigned Vehicle is displayed in the “Vehicle” column in the Routes List.

Auto-Assigning Multiple Users to Multiple Routes from the Routes List

With Route4Me you can easily auto-assign multiple Users to multiple routes at once. This feature helps to equally distribute your planned routes among all available Users. First, you need to select the routes to which you want to assign particular Users. To do so, check the boxes next to the corresponding routes in the Routes List. Next, go to “Edit” in the toolbar and select “Auto Assign Users” respectively.

Then, check the boxes next to the Users that you want to assign to the selected routes. Use the “Filter” for navigating through the list of all Users. Once you selected the Users, click “Assign Users.”

If you select the number of Users that is lower then the number of selected routes, the system will suggest to equally distribute all selected routes among the selected Users.

  • – Click “No, Skip Extra Routes” to assign the selected Users to the same number of the selected routes. If the number of the selected Users is lower than the number of the selected routes, the remaining routes will not have assigned Users;
  • – Click “Yes” to equally distribute the assignment of the selected Users to all selected routes.

Once the selected Users are auto-assigned to the selected routes, it is displayed so next to the routes’ names and in the corresponding column in the Routes List.

Assigning One Vehicle to Multiple Routes from the Routes List

Route4Me also allows you to easily assign one Vehicle to multiple routes at once. First, select the routes to which you want to assign a particular Vehicle. To do so, check the boxes next to the corresponding routes in the Routes List. Next, go to “Edit” in the toolbar and select “Assign Vehicle” respectively.

Then, select the Vehicle that you want to assign to the selected routes from the drop-down list and click “Apply.”

Once you assigned the Vehicle to the selected routes, it is displayed so in the “Vehicle” column in the Routes List.

Assigning a User to a Route from the Routes Map

Assigning Users and Vehicles to your routes from the Routes Map allows you to view your routes on the map, separately or next to each other, and helps you to assign the right Users and Vehicles to the right routes.

To assign a User to a route from the Routes Map, first, click on the gear icon next to the corresponding route.

Next, select “Assign User” from the options menu respectively.

Then, select the User that you want to assign to the route from the drop-down list and click “Apply.”

Once you assigned the User to the route, the User’s email address is displayed next to the name of the corresponding route and in the “User” column in the Routes Map.

To assign a Vehicle to a route from the Routes Map, first, click on the gear icon next to the corresponding route.

Then, select the Vehicle that you want to assign to the route from the drop-down list and click “Apply.”

Assigning One Vehicle to Multiple Routes from the Routes Map

Route4Me also allows you to assign one Vehicle to multiple routes from the Routes Map. First, select the routes to which you want to assign a particular Vehicle. To do so, check the boxes next to the corresponding routes in the Routes Map. Next, go to “Edit” in the toolbar and select “Assign Vehicle” respectively.

Then, select the Vehicle that you want to assign to the selected routes from the drop-down list and click “Apply.”

Once you assigned the Vehicle to the selected routes, it is displayed so in the “Vehicle” column in the Routes Map.

Assigning a User to a Route from the Route Editor

To open a particular route in the Route Editor, go to your Routes List from the navigation menu, and then select the route that you want to open.

To assign a particular User to the route opened in the Route Editor, first, go to “Edit” in the toolbar, and then select “Assign User” respectively.

Next, select the User that you want to assign to the route from the drop-down list and click “Apply.”

Once you assigned the User to the route, it is displayed so in the Summary Table, next to the route’s name.

Assigning a Vehicle to a Route from the Route Editor

To assign a Vehicle to the route opened in the Route Editor, first, go to “Edit” in the toolbar, and then select “Assign Vehicle” respectively.

Next, select the Vehicle that you want to assign to the route from the drop-down list and click “Apply.”

Once you assigned the Vehicle to the route, it is displayed so in the Summary Table, next to the route’s name and assigned User.

Viewing all Routes Assigned to a Particular User

Route4Me provides flexible and adjustable settings for managing your Users and team members. Once you assigned different Users to different routes, you can easily view and manage all routes associated with a particular User. To do so, first, go to your Users List. Then, click on the “View Routes” button next to the User whose routes you want to view.

The Routes List will display all routes associated with the corresponding User. The email address of the assigned User is displayed next to the routes’ names and in the “User” column in the Routes List.
