Assign Vehicles To Routes – Dispatch Routes To Vehicles

With Route4Me’s last-mile optimization and fleet management software, you can easily create and coordinate an entire fleet of cars, vans, light-duty or heavy-duty trucks, trailers, semis, heavy equipment, and any other vehicles. In addition to manually creating vehicles, you can automatically import and connect your vehicles from a variety of telematics vendors.

Once you add or import your vehicles, you can start dispatching routes and tracking your GPS vehicles on a map. On this page, you can learn how to dispatch routes to vehicles (assign vehicles to routes) from Route4Me’s Route Editor, Routes Map, and Routes List. Furthermore, you can assign vehicles to routes from Route4Me’s mobile apps. NOTE: If you can’t find a specific vehicle when assigning vehicles to routes, make sure the “Active” box is checked in the vehicle’s profile. To do so, go to your Vehicles List and then start editing the preferred vehicle.

 

 

Assign Vehicles to Routes Before Routes Are Optimized

You can assign a vehicle to routes before routes are planned and optimized. First, start planning a new route by going to “Routes” and then “Plan New Route” from the navigation menu.  After that, select the preferred route planning option. Next, go to the “User” tab and then select the preferred vehicle in the “Assign Vehicle” list. For your convenience, you can search for vehicles by vehicle name and vehicle license plate number. After that, continue planning and optimizing your routes.

Accordingly, once the route is planned and optimized, this route will be automatically dispatched to the assigned vehicle. Equally important, when you use the Multiple Drivers Route Optimization to plan multiple routes with the same set of addresses, the selected vehicle will be automatically assigned to all optimized routes. Route Editor Vehicle Route Dispatch – Assign Vehicles to Routes

You can assign vehicles to already planned routes from Route4Me’s Route Editor. First, open the preferred planned and optimized route in the Route4Me Route Editor. Next, go to “Edit” at the top of the screen and then select “Assign Vehicle” from the menu. After that, select the preferred vehicle from the list.

Alternatively, go to “Edit” at the top of the screen and select “Route Settings” from the menu. Next, go to the “User” tab, select the preferred vehicle in the “Assign Vehicle” list, and then click on the “Update Route Settings” button.

Once you assign the vehicle to the route, the vehicle’s alias will be displayed in the header of the Route Summary Table in the Route Editor. Accordingly, the route will be automatically dispatched to the vehicle, and then you can start tracking the vehicle in real-time and check the vehicle’s GPS tracking history.

Routes Map Vehicle Route Dispatch – Assign Vehicles to Routes

Route4Me’s Routes Map enables you to simultaneously open and manage multiple routes on the same map. For your convenience, you can assign vehicles to routes from the Routes Map and then track GPS vehicles on those routes. To open the Routes Map, go to “Routes” and then “Routes Map” from the navigation menu.

To assign a vehicle to a route, right-click on the route, select “Assign Vehicle” from the menu and then select the preferred vehicle. To assign the same vehicle to multiple routes at once, select the preferred routes by checking the boxes next to them. Next, go to “Edit” at the top of the screen, select “Assign Vehicle” from the menu, and then select the preferred vehicle.

Accordingly, aliases of the assigned vehicles are displayed in the “Vehicle” column next to their respective routes. Equally important, once a vehicle is assigned to a route, the route is dispatched to the vehicle in real-time, and you can start tracking the vehicle. Furthermore, Route4Me’s Routes Map enables you to simultaneously track multiple vehicles on multiple routes.

Routes List Vehicle Route Dispatch – Assign Vehicles to Routes

You can assign vehicles to routes from Route4Me’s Routes List, where you can view and manage routes available on your account. To open your Routes List, go to “Routes” and then “Routes List” from the navigation menu.

To assign a vehicle to a route, right-click on the route, select “Assign Vehicle” from the menu and then select the preferred vehicle. To assign the same vehicle to multiple routes at once, select the preferred routes by checking the boxes next to them. Next, go to “Edit” at the top of the screen, select “Assign Vehicle” from the menu, and then select the preferred vehicle.

GPS Vehicle Tracking – Track Vehicles on Routes

When you assign a vehicle to a route, the route is automatically dispatched to the vehicle. After dispatching the route to the vehicle, you can track the vehicle in real-time and check the vehicle’s GPS route vehicle tracking history. For your convenience and efficiency, you can track vehicles in multiple ways. Specifically, you can track manually created vehicles if the driver is using Route4Me’s Mobile App. Additionally, you can track telematics vehicles with installed GPS trackers and telematics devices.
