Planned vs Actual Route Distance – Route Reporting Dashboard

Route4Me’s Dashboard is a powerful and extremely user-friendly analytics and reporting tool designed to help you collect various types of actionable last mile intelligence generated by your remote teams and fleets and visualize it all in a single centrally-synchronized control panel. You can use your Dashboard for tracking real-time progress of your entire team or individual drivers, analyzing the productivity statistics of your organization, exporting customized reports, and more. Furthermore, Route4Me’s Dashboard provides detailed comparison charts and graphs that permit you to compare your planned KPIs with the actual performance of your infrastructure. For example, Route4Me’s Dashboard allows you to compare the Planned vs Actual distances on your scheduled and active routes. Next, make sure that the “Planned Distance, mi” and the “Actual Distance, mi” data items are enabled in the Totals section of your Dashboard to get a quick overview of both metrics. To view a more detailed comparison chart of the Planned vs Actual distances on your routes, enable the Distance (Planned vs Actual) chart in the Graphs section of your Dashboard. To do so, click on the three dots menu icon and then select the preferred option(s).

After that, you can filter the Planned vs Actual route distance data that you want to be displayed in your Dashboard for a specific day or date range and/or by one or multiple team members. To filter the data for the preferred day(s), first, click on the calendar in the top right corner and then select one of the available time ranges or specify any custom date or date range accordingly. When filtering metrics by date, your Dashboard shows the data of all routes that are scheduled for the selected day or the dates within the selected date range.

For a more detailed insight into your team’s performance, Route4Me enables you to filter the Planned vs Actual route distances data by any member of your team. Thus, for example, you are able to monitor the real-time or historical distances that individual or all your drivers are scheduled to drive vs the actual distances they have already covered. To do so, select one or multiple team members from the corresponding drop-down list in the top left corner of the Dashboard. NOTE: When you choose a user with sub-users, check the “Include All Sub-Users in the Report” box if you want to display the data of all associated sub-users in the Dashboard. Next, you can consolidate your Planned vs Actual route distances by day or by stop type. To group the data displayed in your Dashboard by day, select the corresponding grouping option, and filter the data for the preferred date or date range. When grouping information by day, your Dashboard displays data sorted by one day of each date within the selected date range.

For maximum efficiency, Route4Me provides multiple optimization types that can account for different stop types. Depending on your unique routing requirements and business needs, you may have pick-ups, deliveries, meet-ups, service, and other stop types on your routes. Route4Me permits you to group your data in the Dashboard by each stop type present in your optimized routes. To consolidate the data in your Dashboard by all available stop types, select the corresponding grouping option. Once your Planned vs Actual data is consolidated by stop type, you will be able to see how much route distance is scheduled and how much distance has already been covered between all available stop types on your routes.

The Distance (Planned vs Actual) graph displays the summary of all routes that are scheduled for the selected date(s) and associated with the selected team member(s). In the Route4Me Routes List with all routes in your Route4Me account, you can check the Planned vs Actual distances of all or individual routes using the following columns:

  • Distance (mi) column displays the total planned distance on each route scheduled for the selected date.
  • Actual Traveled Distance column displays the actual distance that has been driven, walked, or cycled on each route scheduled for the selected date.

You can also use the Progress (%) column to check the progress percentage of each scheduled route.

The Planned distance is the Estimated Distance expected to be traveled on a given optimized route by the assigned driver or field employee. The Actual distance is the Actual Traveled Distance that has been traveled on the given route by the assigned driver or field employee.
