Routes List – Route Planner Last Mile Route Management
Your Route4Me Routes List screen is a centralized database where you can store and easily manage hundreds of thousands of planned, optimized, and scheduled last mile routes. Specifically, you can search routes by various attributes, track route progress and order statuses in real-time, assign drivers and vehicles to routes, dispatch routes, reschedule routes, edit routes, and more. Additionally, your Routes List enables you to view, manage, and track the progress of routes optimized by you and your sub-users. For example, you can see and manage routes planned by Route Planners and track the progress on the routes driven and completed by drivers and field members. Dispatch Mode – Routes View Mode
The Dispatch Mode view mode groups routes by the Scheduled Start Time. Specifically, this view mode shows routes with the latest start date at the top of your Routes List and routes with the earliest start date at the bottom of the list:
- Select the “Dispatch Mode” view mode in the top right corner of your Routes List.
- Adjust the “Start Date Range” filter to see routes that are scheduled to start within the specific time frame. By default, this filter shows routes that start 15 days before and 15 days following the present date.
- Adjust additional filters: Created Date (routes created within the selected time frame), assigned User (Driver) and Vehicle, and Route Status. If you close the additional filters bar, you can use additional filters by clicking on the filters icon in the search field.
Additionally, you can click the “Start Time” column to sort routes from the Earliest Start Time to the Latest Start Time and vice versa. Furthermore, in this view mode, routes are divided by the same Start Date sections, where each section shows how many routes start on the given date. Accordingly, to hide or open a specific section, click the arrow icon next to this section.
Recently Created – Routes View Mode
The Recently Created view mode groups routes by their Route Created Date. Specifically, this view mode shows the most Recently Created Routes at the top of your Routes List and Earlier Created Routes at the bottom of the list:
- Select the “Recently Created” view mode in the top right corner of your Routes List.
- Adjust the “Created Date” filter to see the routes that have been created within the specific time frame.
- Adjust additional filters: Further filter routes by User, Vehicle, Route Status, Address Book Details, Progress percentage, Distance, Estimated Duration, and number of Destinations.
Additionally, you can click the “Date Created” column to sort routes from the most Recently Created Routes to Earlier Created Routes and vice versa.
Sort Routes By Column
After selecting the preferred view mode and applying additional filters, you can easily sort all displayed routes by a specific column. To do so, simply click the arrow icon next to the preferred column to sort all displayed routes from the highest value in this column to the lowest or vice versa. NOTE: You can sort your Routes List by one column at a time – sorting by a specific column overrides the previous column sorting.
Search Routes By Route Attributes
Route4Me’s flexible route search enables you to quickly search through thousands of routes and find the ones you need in seconds. Specifically, you can search for your routes by route details, order information, customer details, etc. To search for a route, input a specific attribute associated with the route into the search bar in the top right corner of your Routes List.
For example, you can search for a route by the Invoice Number associated with a specific destination on the route. Accordingly, the search will find the route that includes the route address that has the respective Invoice Number associated with it. Below, you can find the list of the available attributes you can use to search for routes.

Configure Columns To Customize Routes List
For efficiency, you can easily customize what data you want to see on your Routes List and how this data is displayed. To do so, click the Display Columns icon. Next, in the “Display Columns” panel, check boxes next to the items you want to display on your Routes List. Additionally, you can customize the order of the selected columns by dragging and dropping column names.
NOTE: For your convenience, your custom column selection and column order are saved and automatically open when you sign in to your account. Equally important, your column selection and column order need to be customized separately in the Dispatch Mode and Recently Created view modes.
Columns Descriptions On Routes List
Below, you can find the list of the available Routes List columns and their descriptions. NOTE: The “Route Name” column can’t be deselected or moved on the Routes List when configuring columns and will always be the first column.

Status | Current status of the route. Specifically, routes can have one of the following statuses: “Planned“, “Started“, or “Finished“. When a route is optimized, it is assigned the Planned route status. Next, the route can be set to the Started and Finished statuses by the assigned driver or team member from their connected Route4Me mobile app. | |
Actual Start Time | Timestamp created when the driver or field employee starts the route on the Route4Me mobile app. | |
Dispatched | Allows marking routes as “Dispatched” and shows when routes were marked as “Dispatched“. Routes can be marked as “Dispatched” to send automated SMS and Email notifications to customers on the route. Additionally, routes can be dispatched and sent to the connected telematics vendors. | |
Progress (%) | Shows how many destinations have been visited by the assigned driver. Specifically, when a destination is marked as Arrived by the assigned driver from their connected Route4Me mobile app, the route’s progress is automatically updated on your Routes List in real-time. Assign Vehicles And Drivers To Routes
To dispatch a route to a driver or vehicle, assign the preferred driver (user) or vehicle to the given route. Once the driver is assigned to the route, this route will automatically become available on their connected Route4Me mobile app in real-time. Accordingly, when the assigned driver and vehicle complete their routes, their route progress will be automatically synced to your Routes List in real-time. Specifically, to assign a driver or a team member to a route, click the “Assign Driver” button and then select the preferred user. Similarly, to assign a vehicle to a route, click the “Assign Vehicle” button and then select the preferred vehicle. After that, the name of the assigned driver and vehicle will be displayed under the route’s name.
To assign the same driver and vehicle to multiple routes at a time, select the preferred routes by checking boxes next to them. Next, go to “Edit” at the top of the screen and then select the preferred option.
Route Statuses On Routes List
In the “Status” column, you can track when drivers and other team members start and finish their routes in real-time. Specifically, when the driver assigned to the route sets status to their route from their connected Route4Me mobile app, it automatically becomes available on your Routes List in real-time. Below, you can find the list of the available route statuses.

Planned | Route was planned, optimized, scheduled, became available on your Routes List, and hasn’t been assigned a status yet. |
Started | Route was Marked as Started from the connected Route4Me mobile app by the assigned driver or team member. |
Finished | Route was Marked as Ended from the connected Route4Me mobile app by the assigned driver or team member. |
Route Progress On Routes List
In the “Progress” column, you can easily track the progress of all your routes in real-time. Specifically, when the driver assigned to the route marks destinations as “Visited” from the connected Route4Me mobile app, the route progress is automatically updated on your Routes List in real-time.
Additionally, route progress can be automatically updated when the geofences around destinations are entered by the driver who is using the Route4Me mobile app or a connected telematics device. Specifically, when the driver enters geofences, destinations are Detected as Visited, and the route progress is automatically updated on your Routes List in real-time.
Destination Statuses On Routes List
You can check what statuses have been assigned to destinations on a route when you enable Destination status colums. Specifically, when a driver assigned to the route sets a status to an address, this status is automatically synced and displayed on your Routes List in real-time. This way, you can easily track how many destinations on your routes were Skipped, Failed, and successfully visited. To use the “Skipped” and “Failed” statuses, reach out to your Route4Me Routing Expert or contact Route4Me support. Below, you can find descriptions of the available destination statuses.

Actions – Manage Routes On Routes List
To edit or manage a specific route on your Routes List, click the menu icon next to the preferred route and then select the preferred action. Below, you can find the list of available actions for managing your routes. Please note that additional actions can be added to your account.

Rename | Change the name of the route. |
Change Start Time | Reschedule the route for another preferred Route Start Time and Date. |
Duplicate | Duplicate the route to create an identical copy of the route without copying the current progress of the route. |
Create Recurring Schedule | Use the selected route as a template to be automatically planned and dispatched based on a custom recurring schedule. To use this feature, enable the Recurring Routing Add-On for your account in the Feature Manager. Additionally, learn more about Scheduled and Recurring Routing. |
Insert Break(s) | Insert break destinations into the route. To use this feature, enable the Driver Breaks Add-On for your account in the Feature Manager. Additionally, learn more about inserting Driver Breaks into your routes. |
Share | Share a public link to the route via SMS, Email, or copy the route’s URL manually. When sharing a route, you share a public URL of the route that allows the viewer to see the route but doesn’t allow them to modify the route. |
Open the route’s Dynamic Route Manifest and customize the version of the route manifest you want to print. | |
Export | Customize your route export and download the preferred route data in a CSV file. |

Bulk Actions – Manage Multiple Routes At A Time
To manage multiple routes at a time, select the preferred routes by checking boxes next to them. Next, click the “Bulk Actions” drop-down list and then select the preferred action. Below, you can find the list of the available actions for managing multiple routes at a time. Please note that additional actions can be added to your account.

Dispatch Routes From The Routes List
To dispatch a route, switch on the respective toggle in the “Dispatched” column next to the preferred route. Dispatching a route triggers the Scheduled Customer Notifications and Alerts. Specifically, it automatically sends customized SMS and Email notifications to customers on the dispatched route.
Additionally, when a telematics vehicle is assigned to a route, and this route is dispatched, the route can be automatically sent to the connected telematics vendor. Learn more about connecting telematics vendors to your Route4Me account and dispatching routes to telematics vehicles.
