Manage Vehicles – Edit Details, Delete And Restore Vehicles

With Route4Me’s vehicle fleet management software, you can see and manage all vehicles available on your Route4Me account. The fleet management software enables you to edit added or imported vehicles, assign vehicles to routes, assign different commercial vehicle or capacity profiles to manage your fleet, delete vehicles, and restore deleted vehicles. Depending on your account-level permissions, you can see and manage vehicles added by you and other team members or imported telematics vehicles. Manage vehicles, view vehicle details, edit, delete, and restore deleted vehicles, set commercial vehicle profiles and mixed capacity vehicle profiles.

 

 

Open Vehicles List And View Vehicle Details

To open your “Vehicles” page, go to “Team” and then “Vehicles” from the Navigation Menu on the left. Vehicles will be displayed in the “Active“, “Pending“, and “Deleted” tabs depending on their respective status.

To access the Vehicles List, go to Team and Vehicles from the Navigation Menu.

ActiveIn the “Active” tab, you can see and manage all active vehicles, activated telematics vehicles, and vehicles that can be edited and assigned to routes.
PendingIn the “Pending” tab, you can see and activate vehicles imported through Route4Me’s Telematics Gateway.
DeletedIn the “Deleted” tab, you can see deleted vehicles. Additionally, this is where you can restore deleted vehicles and re-activate vehicles.

 

For your convenience, the “Vehicles” page enables you to view the details of any vehicle. To do so, click the Arrow next to the preferred vehicle to open the vehicle details pane. All of the respective vehicle details can be changed when you edit a vehicle.

To quick view vehicle details on the Vehicles page click the arrow icon next to the preferred vehicle.

 

Manage Vehicles, Visibility And Permissions

The Route4Me fleet and team management software enables you to edit vehicles, assign commercial and capacity profiles, delete and restore deleted vehicles, and more. Depending on a team member’s user type, account-level permissions, and company visibility and permissions settings, the types of vehicles they can access and edit will be different. Specifically, these settings are set and adjusted per user or user type and can be accessed by going to “Team” and then “Users” from the Navigation Menu. Depending on a user's account-level permissions, they can access and manage different vehicles.

 

Edit Vehicles – Adjust Vehicle Details And Parameters

To edit a vehicle, go to “Team” and then “Vehicles” from the Navigation Menu. On your “Vehicles” page, click the Pencil Icon next to the preferred vehicle to open the “Edit Vehicle” screen and change vehicle details and parameters.

The “Edit Vehicle” page allows you to change the “Vehicle Information“, “Registration Information“, and “Fuel” details as when creating a vehicle. Additionally, you can set a vehicle as “Active” or deactivate a vehicle. Vehicles set to “Active” can be assigned to routes and will appear in the “Active” tab on the “Vehicles” page.

When you edit a vehicle, you can adjust vehicle information, registration information, fuel details, and more.

Profile SectionDescription
Vehicle InformationVehicle Alias and License Plate can be used to search for the vehicle when you assign vehicles to routes. Additionally, based on the selected Vehicle Type, Route4Me will automatically choose the most optimal roads that fit the respective vehicle type parameters (dimensions or attributes) when planning and optimizing routes. For example, routes planned for a commercial 18-wheeler truck can have different driving directions than routes planned for a regular van. Accordingly, you can select one of the following Vehicle Types: 18-wheeler, big rig, cabin, cement mixer, coupe, dairy, hatchback, livestock carrier, motorcycle, pickup truck, sedan, SUV, tractor-trailer, tree cutting, van, or waste disposal.
Registration InformationSpecify the vehicle’s registration information.
FuelSelect the vehicle’s Fuel Type and specify its City and Highway MPG (or liters per 100 kilometers): Unleaded 87, Unleaded 89, Unleaded 91, Unleaded 93, Diesel, Electric, or Hybrid.

 

Commercial Routing – Assign Commercial Vehicle Profiles For Truck Route Planning

Furthermore, it’s possible to assign a Commercial Vehicle Profile to any vehicle from the “Edit Vehicle” screen. In the “Vehicle Profile” section, select one of the available commercial vehicle types, i.e., Heavy Duty 28 Double Trailer, 40 Straight Truck, 48 Semitrailer, 53 Semitrailer, Light Duty, Medium Duty, and no restrictions. Each commercial vehicle profile has a respective set of constraints that the Route4Me Software takes into account when planning and optimizing commercial vehicle trucking routes. Additionally, learn more about creating commercial vehicles and the different commercial truck types. NOTE: To create commercial vehicles, the Commercial Vehicle Routing and Navigation Add-On must be enabled on the main Route4Me account.

Mixed Fleet – Assign Capacity Profiles To Create Mixed Vehicle Fleet

Additionally, the Route4Me fleet management software enables you to create mixed vehicle fleets with vehicles of different capacities such as cars, vans, and more. To create a mixed vehicles fleet, you can assign different Capacity Profiles to your existing vehicles from the “Capacity Profile” menu or assign a Capacity Profile when you create a vehicle. Additionally, learn more about mixed vehicle fleet routing and different vehicle profiles and constraints. NOTE: To create a mixed vehicle fleet, the Mixed Vehicles Routing Add-On must be enabled on the main Route4Me account.

To create a mixed vehicles fleet, you can assign different Capacity Profiles to your existing vehicles from the Capacity Profile menu.

 

Delete Vehicles – Remove Vehicles From Route4Me Fleet

To delete fleet vehicles and remove vehicles from your Route4Me account, first go to “Team” and then “Vehicles” from the Navigation Menu. On your “Vehicles” page, you can see and manage all vehicles available on your Route4Me account. Depending on your account-level permissions, you can see and manage vehicles added by you and other users. Further, you can learn more about Route4Me’s Vehicle Management Permissions by User Type.

To delete a vehicle from your Route4Me fleet, click the Delete Icon next to the vehicle.

Additionally, you can delete multiple vehicles by checking the boxes next to the vehicles you want to delete and clicking the “Delete” button. For your convenience, it’s also possible to restore deleted vehicles.Delete multiple vehicles at once by checking the boxes next them and clicking the Delete button.

 

Equally important, once a vehicle is deleted, it is automatically un-assigned from all routes it was previously assigned to. Additionally, you can learn more about assigning vehicles to routes.

Restore Vehicles – Activate Deleted Vehicles In Route4Me Fleet

For your convenience, you can easily restore your deleted and deactivated vehicles. To do so, go to the “Deleted” tab and click the Restore Icon next to the vehicles you want to restore. Accordingly, once a vehicle is restored, it automatically becomes available in the “Active” tab. After that, you can assign the restored vehicle to routes.

NOTE: If you can’t see the restored vehicle when trying to assign it to routes, make sure that the “Active” box is checked in the vehicle’s profile. To do so, go to your “Vehicles” page, click the Pencil Icon to edit the vehicle, and set it to “Active“.

Additionally, you can restore multiple vehicles by checking the boxes next to the preferred vehicles and clicking the “Restore” button. The respective vehicles will then be moved back to the “Active” section.To restore multiple deleted vehicles, check the boxes next to them and click the Restore button.
