Re-Optimize Route Stops and Directions in Web Route Editor

With Route4Me’s proprietary dynamic route optimization engine, you can create routes with hundreds of thousands of addresses and multiple advanced constraints, such as  PiecesVolumeRevenueWeight, and more. After planning your routes, you can also make dynamic changes to them. Thus, whenever you modify a particular optimized route (i.e., add, delete, move stops, etc.), Route4Me makes dynamic route optimization updates to this route that account for the applied changes in real-time and provides the updated route directions without changing the route’s sequence of stops. In addition to making dynamic route optimization updates after modifying optimized routes, you can also re-optimize your routes to get the most efficient stop sequences based on the applied changes.

To re-optimize a particular route in the Route Editor, first, open this route in the Route Editor from the Routes List of the Routes Map.

To apply new settings to the route and then re-optimize this route, first, go to File and then select Route Settings.

Next, you can adjust the following settings that can influence the route’s optimization:

Alternatively, you may want to re-optimize the route and get a more efficient sequence of stops after inserting new stops into the route, deleting stops from the route, changing the sequence of stops on the route, and more.

To re-optimize the route with an altered sequence or number of stops, first, go to Route and then select Re-Optimize this Route.

Once re-optimized, Route4Me computes the most optimal sequence of stops for the route accounting for all deleted, inserted, or moved stops, as well as all other modified parameters and settings.

If you insert new stops, delete stops, or move stops on the route that has already visited destinations, you still can re-optimize this route and get the most optimal sequence of destinations accounting for all modifications.

To re-optimize the route with already visited stops, first, go to Route → Select Re-Optimize this Route → Click Continue when prompted.

NOTE: When re-optimizing the route with visited stops, the stops that have already been visited may be placed after not visited stops.
