Route4Me iOS Live Chat – Using the Live Team Chat in the Activity Stream on Your Route4Me iPhone Route Planner
Route4Me’s iPhone Route Planner is designed to make your routing operations and transactions as fast and flexible as possible, allowing you to effortlessly plan, optimize, and navigate routes of any complexity on the go. Route4Me also enables you to build a well-structured and easily-manageable network of users with different roles and account-level permissions (learn more). The Activity Stream on your Route4Me iPhone Route Planner is an analytics and log auditing tool that allows you to view all activities performed by you and the associated team members on your routes (learn more). Moreover, you can also use the Activity Stream as a real-time chat room for direct team communication. Thus, you can exchange direct messages with your team members in the same place where you are collaborating on routes in near real-time without having to switch between different apps. In addition to easier and more centralized communication, the Live Chat also helps to be more mobile and responsive in urgent and unpredictable situations.
To communicate through the team chat with the member that is assigned to a particular route and all other users who have access to this route, first, open this route to make it the current route/active route. To do so, go to “Routes” from the navigation menu and then select the route that you want to open.
After opening the preferred route, go to “More” from the navigation menu and then select “Activity Feed” from the menu.
Next, to send a message to the users who have access to the currently opened route, tap on the “Add a comment here” field → input the message that you want to send → tap on the send icon to send the message. Once the message is sent, it is displayed in your Activity Stream as an event.
The messages that you send to team members through the Activity Stream from your Route4Me Android Route Planner can be received and responded to from the Route4Me Web Platform or Route4Me’s Android and iOS mobile apps. Thus, for example, the drivers that are out in the field can use their Route4Me mobile apps for sending messages to the dispatchers or managers back at the office and vice versa. To respond from the Route4Me Web Platform to the message sent from Route4Me’s iOS or Android mobile app, first, open the Activity Strem in the Route Editor for the corresponding route. Once the message is sent from the Route4Me Web Platform, the user associated with the corresponding route will get a notification on their iOS device and will be able to respond to the message accordingly.
All messages that are exchanged between different users can be found in your Account Activity Stream. Thus, the Account Owner and other users with the corresponding user type can easily check what messages were exchanged by which users and on which routes.
