Open and Manage Multiple Drivers Route Optimizations

When you plan and optimize a new route using the Route4Me Web Platform and Android or iOS mobile apps, Route4Me automatically creates a unique optimization that is linked to this route and saves the corresponding optimization with all its parameters into your Account Optimizations List. Your Account Optimizations can be used for re-optimizing planned routes, optimizing multiple routes at a time, restoring deleted routes with the exact same optimization settings, and more. The Multiple Drivers Route optimization is designed specifically for planning multiple equally-sized and efficiently optimized routes from a single set of imported addresses with multiple Advanced Constraints (learn more). When you use the Multiple Drivers Route optimization for planning multiple routes, the system automatically creates a single unique optimization for all generated routes. Thus, by adjusting the settings of a single Multiple Drivers Route optimization, you can re-optimize multiple routes at a time.

To open your Account Optimizations List, go to “Optimizations” from the navigation menu.

When planning multiple routes with the Multiple Drivers Route optimization, the system creates a single unique optimization for all generated routes. All optimizations are saved in your Account Optimizations List, where they can be viewed, modified, and re-optimized accordingly (learn more).

By default, each optimization inherits the same name as its linked route, once the latter is planned. When planning multiple routes in a single optimization, each route is suffixed with its corresponding progression “Part” number next to its original name.

When editing an optimization in your Account Optimizations List, you can view and edit the following settings:

  1. In the “Addresses” tab, you can view and edit the details of each stop/address in the given optimization. In the “Settings” tab, you can change the settings of the optimization, as well as re-optimize it to apply all changes to the linked route(s);
  2. You can view the selected optimization on the interactive map, where you can right-click on stops to modify them. On the interactive map, you can also use the Summary Table to view all available  aggregated metrics for the given optimization;
  3. You can view the opened optimization using the timeline.

When editing an optimization in a new tab, you can view and edit the following settings:

  1. In the “Addresses” tab, you can view and edit the details of each stop/address in the opened optimization. In the “Settings” tab, you can change the settings of the optimization, as well as re-optimize it to apply all changes to the linked route(s);

When you plan multiple routes in a single Multiple Drivers Route optimization, all planned routes have the same depot (“Start” stop). To view or edit the details of the “Start” stop, first, click on this stop in the “Address” tab and then navigate through the stop’s details accordingly.

In the “Addresses” tab, you can view and edit the details of each stop/address in the opened optimization. To do so, first, click on the stop/address that you want to modify to open its menu. Alternatively, right-click on the stop/address that you want to edit on the interactive map and then select “Modify Stop” from its menu. To learn more about viewing and editing stops’ details in opened optimizations, visit this page.

In the “Settings” tab of the opened optimization, you can adjust the optimization settings and then apply all changes to the linked routes. To learn more about editing the optimization settings, visit this page. In the “Optimization Type” section of the “Settings” tab, you can change the type of the opened optimization: Single Driver RouteMultiple Drivers RouteBalanced Team Route, or Disable Optimization.

When planning routes with the Multiple Drivers Route optimization, you can use Advanced Constraints (i.e., PiecesWeightCubeRevenuePriority, etc.) that affect the number and size of planned routes. To view or edit the Advanced Constraint in the opened optimization, go to the “Optimization Settings” section in the “Settings” tab. To learn more about using all available Advance Constraints, visit this page.

Depending on the selected optimization type (Multiple Drivers Route only), the defined Advanced Constraints, and other settings, the system can plan a different number of routes. If you want to re-optimize the Multiple Drivers Route optimization to get more or fewer routes, use the corresponding constraints in the “Optimization Settings” section of the “Settings” tab.

Once you re-optimize the opened Multiple Drivers Route optimization with adjusted optimization settings, the number of planned routes for this optimization will change accordingly.
