Multiple Users GPS Tracking – Tracking Multiple Team Members on the Interactive Map in Near Real-Time (Routes Map)
With Route4Me, you can build a well-structured and easily-manageable network of users where each member can have a dedicated role within your organization with an adjustable set of permissions. To make sure that your entire routing operation is running according to plan and your drivers don’t deviate from their routes, Route4Me allows you to track each member of your team on the interactive map in near real-time. To accommodate the particular needs of your business or unique business model, Route4Me can capture tracking data from various integrated telematics devices installed on your drivers’ vehicles or from Route4Me’s iOS and Android mobile apps (GPS4Me). Moreover, Route4Me enables you to simultaneously track multiple users on the same map and orchestrate the activities on multiple routes at the same time. For example, when tracking multiple users on the map in near real-time, you can get a visual overview of how each route is being completed and move stops from one route to another with a touch of the button (learn how). Thus, with Route4Me’s near real-time tracking, you can always know where your field employees and drivers are at all times, make sure that they are following their routes, make live changes to your routes, avoid unauthorized vehicle use, prevent driver idling, and much more.
To simultaneously track multiple team members on the interactive map in near real-time, first, go to the Routes Map from the navigation menu. Next, select the routes to which the members you want to track are assigned by checking the corresponding boxes. On the Routes Map, when a route has a team member assigned to it, the email of this team member is displayed in the “User” column and next to this route accordingly.
On the Routes Map, to display the current location of the members assigned to the selected routes, first, click on “Tracking” in the top right corner of the map and then select “Users” from the menu. After that, the list of all members in your team will be displayed in the menu on the right and the current location of each assigned member will be represented on the map by a truck icon/tracking icon (learn more). The truck icon can move across the interactive map in near real-time following the live location of the associated member. Depending on your telematics service provider, the tracking icon can be customized accordingly (learn more).
The “Users” menu on the right shows all members in your team with their activity/availability status:
- – Green Icon – Indicates that the user is currently active;
- – Dark Grey Icon – Indicates that the user is currently inactive but was active within the last 24 hours;
- – Red Icon – Indicates that the user has been inactive for more than 24 hours;
- – Light Grey Icon: Indicates that the user has a Route4Me account but hasn’t been tracked on the map yet.
On the Routes Map, the names of all team members that are displayed in the menu on the right and the emails of the users that are assigned to the selected routes are displayed in the “User” column and next to the corresponding routes. To learn more about Route4Me’s Team Management, visit this page.

Each blue dot on the displayed tracking trails represents a vehicle refresh point/synchronization point where the signal from the driver’s GPS telematics device or Route4Me’s iOS or Android mobile app was sent to Route4Me. You can click on any breadcrumb (blue dot) on any tracking trail to see when the signal from the member’s GPS/telematics/mobile device was sent to Route4Me and the member’s traveling speed at that moment.
