Manage Routes – Use Routes List Page To Edit Single Or Multiple Routes

The Routes Page is your central hub for managing and editing both single and multiple routes. From here, you can assign drivers and vehicles, export route data, dispatch routes and notifications, and perform other essential route management tasks. This guide explains how to efficiently manage individual and multiple routes directly from your Routes Page.

Customize Your Routes List – Filter And Group Routes

To edit a route from your Routes List, go to “Dynamic Routing” > “Routes” from the Navigation Menu.

Then, before editing routes, use “Filters” or “Group by” options to display only the routes you want to manage. You can filter by date, driver, vehicle, or other attributes to streamline your workflow.

Proper filtering helps make actions like assigning users, inserting addresses, and dispatching notifications faster and more precise. NOTE: Learn more about filtering and grouping your Routes List.

Apply filter and grouping options to quickly find routes you wish to edit.

 

Individual Route Management – Edit And Manage A Single Route

To manage a single route, click the Down Arrow next to a route to open the Actions Menu. From here, you can perform a range of tasks, all of which are detailed in the table below.

NOTE: You can also access the Actions Menu by right-clicking a route from the Route Timeline.

In addition, you can can click the “Actions” button to insert an address into the most optimal route or open the Route Operation Matrix for routes scheduled for the current date, providing an at-a-glance view of route progress and operational metrics.

Access the Action Menu to edit and make other modifications to a specific route on your Routes List.

Rename Change the route’s name or alias to make it easier to search and identify.
Assign UserAssign a driver or team member to the route. The assigned user can start, navigate, and complete the route using the Route4Me Driver Mobile App.
Assign VehicleAssign a vehicle to the route from your homogeneous or mixed fleet of vehicles.
Assign FacilityAssign a specific facility to the route, linking it to a warehouse, depot, or service center for tracking, routing, and operational planning.
Assign CustomerAssign a specific customer to the route, ensuring that deliveries, services, or visits are accurately linked to the correct client.
Assign ContractAssign a contract to the route to tie route activities to a specific service agreement, recurring schedule, or contractual obligations.
RescheduleChange the date and time of the day the route is scheduled to start.
DispatchDispatch routes to send automated SMS and Email customer notifications.
DuplicateCreate a copy of the route. The new route will have “(Duplicate)” added to the end of its name.
Create Recurring RouteCreate a new Master Route for use when planning recurring schedule routes.
View ManifestDownload or print a detailed dynamic Route Manifest. This manifest includes all available route and destination data and details.
View on Multiple Routes MapOpen the selected routes on the Routes Map.
ShareShare the route with other Users by direct link or send a link via Email.
Export RoutesExport route data as a CSV spreadsheet or navigation data file for import into navigation devices such as Garmin, TomTom, and more.
Insert AddressInsert an address into the route by typing or searching the address in the “Address” field.
Insert BreaksAdd driver breaks on the route with customizable break duration and break trigger type.
RemovePermanently delete the selected routes.

 

Bulk Route Management – Edit And Manage Multiple Routes At Once

To manage multiple routes at once, select the checkboxes next to the routes you want to modify.

Then, click a menu bar option: “Dispatch” to dispatch routes and customer notifications, “Reschedule” to update route dates, or “Bulk Actions” to open the full list of bulk management options, detailed in the table below.

NOTE: You can apply bulk actions to up to 100 routes at a time.

Merge Selected RoutesCombine multiple routes into one without deleting the originals. The assigned user and vehicle from the first selected route will apply.
Compare Selected RoutesView multiple routes side by side, including maps, directions, schedule, travel time, distance, and real-time progress.
Re-Optimize RoutesRe-optimize all selected routes after making changes, such as adding or removing addresses.
Re-Optimize Remaining DestinationsAutomatically re-optimize all unvisited destinations on active routes, adjusting the route sequence for optimal efficiency while keeping already visited stops in place.
Refresh DirectionsOptimize route directions without changing the stop sequence.
Reverse RoutesReverse the route sequence and directions for return trips.
Unlink Routes from OptimizationRemove selected routes from their current optimization, allowing you to make changes without restrictions from existing optimization settings. Learn more about unlinking routes from optimizations.
View ManifestDownload or print a detailed Route Manifest, which includes all route and destination information.

Operation MatrixOpen a multiple routes operation matrix to view the visitation progress of routes with color-coded metrics.

Drag And Drop Orders And Locations Into The Best Route

From the Routes Page, you can also Insert Orders and Locations into optimal routes. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Map Button in the top-right to open the Routes Page Map.
  2. Click the Divider Button on the right to open the unrouted Orders and Locations panel.
  3. Select the “Orders” or “Locations” tab to see unrouted Orders and Locations respectively.
  4. Right-click an Order or Location and select “Insert Address into Best Route” from the menu. Alternatively, drag an Order or Location to a specific route in your Routes List.
    NOTE: You can also click “Open” to see Order Snapshots or Location Snapshots, or click “Edit” to make changes to Orders and Locations.

From there, follow the usual process to insert Orders into routes or Destination into routes, or simply drag an Order or Location directly onto a route in the Routes List to add it as a new destination.

Save time by dragging and dropping orders and locations into already planned routes.

 

Each tab includes filtering and column customization options similar to those found in your Route4Me Order Management and Route4Me Locations Management pages, helping you organize and view data efficiently.

Mobile Driver App And Routes List Real-Time Data Sync

Route4Me keeps your Routes Page and the Mobile Driver App fully synchronized in real-time.

Drivers and team members can use the Route4Me Android or iOS Driver Mobile App to navigate routes, update destination statuses, attach proof of delivery, and complete other route tasks, with all changes instantly reflected on the Routes Page.

Likewise, edits made on the Routes Page, like assigning drivers, rescheduling routes, or inserting addresses, are immediately visible on the mobile app, ensuring your entire team stays up to date.

Any edits or modifications made to a route via the Routes Page will automatically appear in the Route4Me mobile driver app.
