Re-Optimize Remaining Stops – Re-Sequence Not Visited Stops
You may not always have all stops on your routes visited in the right sequence. For example, some stops can be missed or skipped because the customer wasn’t at the location, the customer wants to reschedule the delivery for several hours later, etc. Or, you may want to insert more stops into a dispatched route that has already visited addresses and then re-optimize this route to get more efficient results.
Route4Me will automatically detect all visited addresses and move them to the top of the route. At the same time, all the addresses that have not been visited on the route will be re-optimized for the most cost-efficient visitation sequence and driving directions. As this happens, Route4Me automatically recalculates the most optimal solution to the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) and the Vehicle Route Problem (VRP) in an instant – a process that would take hours if done manually.
Re-Optimize Not Visited Destinations On An Active Route with Visited Destinations
When driving a route, some stops on the route might be skipped for various reasons. For example, a customer wasn’t at the location upon the driver’s arrival, the customer asked to reschedule the delivery for a couple of hours later, etc. In this case, the driver would need to keep on driving the route and then return to the not visited addresses later. Thus, you may end up having one or several not visited route destinations that are located between already visited destinations.
To make sure that all not visited addresses can be visited in the most optimal sequence, you can re-optimize all remaining addresses on the route at any time. Route4Me will automatically detect all addresses that haven’t been visited and then re-optimize them for the most optimal visitation sequence right on the active route.
To re-optimize all not visited stops on a route opened in the Route Editor, first, go to Route from the menu at the top and then select Re-Optimize Remaining Stops from the list.
Once the route is re-optimized, all visited addresses will be moved to the beginning of the route. All not visited addresses will be re-optimized for the most cost-efficient visitation sequence and driving directions. After the route’s not visited addresses are re-optimized, the route will continue from the last visited address.
Re-Optimize Inserted Destinations On An Active Route With Visited Destinations
When you insert a new address into an already planned route, Route4Me automatically inserts the new address as the last destination. If the new address is inserted into an active route that has visited stops, you may want to re-optimize this route for the newly inserted address to be placed at the most optimal visitation sequence position. In this way, you can get significantly more cost-efficient results than by visiting the new address as the last destination.

To re-optimize all newly inserted and all not visited stops on the route opened in the Route Editor, first, go to Route from the menu at the top and then select Re-Optimize Remaining Stops from the list.
Once the route is re-optimized, all visited addresses will be moved to the beginning of the route. All newly inserted and all not visited addresses will be re-optimized for the most cost-efficient visitation sequence and driving directions. After the route’s not visited and newly inserted addresses are re-optimized, the route will continue from the last visited address.
Route4Me supports real-time data synchronization across the Route4Me Web Platform and Route4Me’s iOS and Android mobile apps. For example, a dispatcher can re-optimize not visited addresses from the Route4Me Web Platform and dispatch updates to the driver’s device. Or, the driver can insert a new destination from their mobile device, and this route’s not visited addresses, together with the inserted address, can be re-optimized from the Route4Me Website by a route planner.
