Manage Custom Data Attached to Stops – Android Route Planner
Route4Me’s Android Route Planner is designed to make your routing operations and transactions as fast and flexible as possible, allowing you to effortlessly plan, optimize, and navigate routes of any complexity on the go. To accommodate the particular needs of your business or unique business model, whenever there is any type of data that does not fit into Route4Me’s predefined fields, you can attach this information to your route stops as custom data. Custom data fields can be added to your route stops from the Route4Me Web Platform, and the content in those custom data fields can be viewed, filled out, and modified using Route4Me’s Android app. Thus, dispatchers and managers back at the office can specify what kind of custom data they want to get from the drivers who are out in the field, and the drivers can capture the corresponding information according to the predefined requirements.
Viewing Custom Data Attached to Route Stops/Addresses on Android Devices
To view the custom data attached to stops/addresses on a particular route, first, go to “My Routes” from the navigation menu and then open the corresponding route.
Next, tap on the stop that you want to check and then select “Stop Info” from the stop’s menu. On the “Stop Info” screen, scroll to the “Custom Data” section where you can view all custom data attached to this stop.
Adding Custom Data Fields to Stops Using the Route4Me Web Platform
New custom data fields can be added to route stops only from the Route4Me Web Platform and the content in these custom data fields can be filled out or modified using Route4Me’s iOS and Android mobile apps.
To add custom data fields to a particular route stop on the Route4Me Web Platform, after opening the corresponding stop/address, click on the “Add Custom Data” button at the top of the stop’s menu (learn more).
After that, you can add new custom data fields and fill them out with the preferred content. When you add new custom data fields and fill them out with content on the Route4Me Web Platform, these fields (field names) cannot be changed, but the content in these fields can be modified from the Route4Me Web Platform and Route4Me’s iOS and Android mobile apps. If you want to have particular custom data fields filled out specifically from Route4Me’s mobile apps, you can add these custom data fields to the stop and leave the corresponding content fields empty.
Editing and Filling Out Stops’ Custom Data on Android Devices
To fill out or edit the custom data attached to a particular route stop using Route4Me’s Android Route Planner, first, tap on the corresponding stop and then select “Edit Custom Data” from the stop’s menu.
Next, you can edit the content in the existing custom data fields or fill out the empty custom data content fields respectively. To edit the content in the existing custom data fields, tap on the content field that you want to modify and then input the new data accordingly.
Custom data content fields can be left empty (when added from the Route4Me Web Platform) so that they can be filled out from Route4Me’s mobile apps later as required. To fill out an empty custom data content field, tap on this field and then input the preferred data accordingly. To apply the changes and add the new or modified custom data to the stop, tap on the checkmark icon in the top right corner of the screen.
To view the modified or added custom data, first, tap on the stop that you want to check and then select “Stop Info” from the stop’s menu. On the “Stop Info” screen, scroll to the “Custom Data” section where you can view all custom data attached to the stop.
Route4Me provides near real-time data synchronization across all associated computer and mobile devices so that whenever you edit the existing or add new custom data to a particular route stop using Route4Me’s Android or iOS Route Planner, the corresponding custom data instantly becomes available on the Route4Me Web Platform and vice versa.
