Address Book Custom Data Add-On
All you need to create a new entry in your Route4Me Address Book is a valid address of a customer or any relevant real-world location. For your convenience, Route4Me provides multiple pre-set fields in the contact window where you can add the contact’s name, alias, email address, phone number, and other relevant details. Since each business and business model is unique and has specific needs, there might be information you want to attach to a particular contact that cannot fit into Route4Me’s predefined fields. That being said, there is no one-size-fits-all solution for storing and using customers’ information. Route4Me’s Address Book Custom Data Add-On allows you to add as many custom data fields to your contacts as you want so that you can fully accommodate the particular needs of your business.
To add or modify custom data of a particular contact, first, go to “Address Book List” from the navigation menu.
Next, right click on the contact to whose profile you want to add custom data and then select “Edit” from the contact’s menu.
After that, go to the “Location Details” tab and then click on the “Edit Custom Data” button.
Next, use the corresponding fields to add new custom data or edit the existing custom data of the opened contact.
To add more custom data fields to the contact’s profile, click on the “Add One More” button.
Repeat the process to add as many custom data fields as you want and then click on the “OK” button to save the added custom data.
After that, click on the “Save” button to apply the changes.
For more convenience, when planning a route with the Interactive Map Editor, you can use the existing contacts from your Address Book for adding to the route as stops. To learn more about planning routes with the Interactive Map Editor, visit this page.
When you use the existing contacts for planning routes, all custom data of these contacts is automatically attached to them and can be viewed or modified respectively. To view the custom data of a particular stop in the Route Editor, first, open the stop’s menu and then scroll to the “Custom Data” section.
To edit custom data of the opened stop, click on the “Field Content” (Editable) and then modify the data to your preference. In the “Custom Data” section of any stop, only the “Field Content” is editable, while the “Field Name” is not editable. Thus, if you want to change the name of a particular custom data field, you can delete the corresponding field completely and then add a new field with the preferred name and content. NOTE: The modifications made to the custom data in the Route Editor do not affect the custom data of the associated contact in the Address Book.
Route4Me provides near real-time data synchronization across all associated computer and mobile devices so that any changes made from the Route4Me Web Platform can be effortlessly synchronized with Route4Me’s iOS and Android mobile apps in a matter of seconds. Thus, managers and dispatchers back at the office can add or modify custom data of any stop and instantly synchronize all updates with the mobile devices of the drivers who are out in the field.
