Plan Future Routes – Create Recurring Routes Days in Advance
Route4Me’s Recurring Scheduling & Routing is designed for all types of businesses whose customers need to be visited using a repeating field service or delivery schedule. With Recurring Routing flexible rules and settings, you can create virtually any Routing Schedule that your unique business requires.
You can auto dispatch routes to drivers and vehicles, add multiple rules, schedule delivery for repeat orders, plan future routes in advance and enable auto-delivery, etc. Flexible and customizable routing schedule rules allow you to create any possible Recurring Schedule. For more visibility on all levels, you can plan scheduled routes in advance for up to an entire year. Planning scheduled Recurring Routes in advance provides multiple benefits:
- More visibility for Drivers: Drivers will always know when they need to complete the next route and have more time to prepare.
- More visibility on the Executive level: Managers and Business Owners can use Route4Me’s Reporting Dashboard to estimate future workload, compare Planned vs Actual routing and performance metrics, and more.
- Incorporate Day-Specific Route Changes: Edit individual Scheduled Recurring Routes to change the route start time, add more stops, re-assign vehicles and drivers, update order details, etc.
- Improve Route Density: Get a bird’s eye view over planned routes and make the necessary arrangements in advance.
- Improve Customer Satisfaction: Get a head start to confirm customer orders, visitations, services, etc., and potentially reach out to customers in a timely manner.

Routes can be easily planned up to a year in advance. NOTE: Please make sure that the time zone on your computer or web browser is the same as the time zone in your Route4Me account settings. Recurring Routes will be created based on your Route4Me account time zone and displayed using the time zone on your computer or web browser.
You can create a Scheduled Master Route template with a Recurring Schedule from any route and then specify the preferred future route creation schedule. To create a new Master Route template with a schedule, click on the gear icon next to the preferred route in the Routes List or Routes Map and then select Create Recurring Schedule from the menu.
Alternatively, you can edit an existing Master Route Recurring Schedule to adjust the preferred future routes creation interval. To edit an existing schedule, go to Recurring Schedule from the navigation menu and then click on the SCHEDULE button next to the schedule that you want to edit. Or click on the Three Dots Menu button and then select Schedule from the list.
When creating a new or editing an existing Master Route – Recurring Schedule:
- Adjust the Recurring Schedule Rule(s) that are used for scheduling and planning Recurring Routes.
- Adjust how many days in advance you want future scheduled routes to be planned. By default, Recurring Routes are created based on the schedule rules, 1 hour before the routes’ start time. The route start time is specified when you create a new or edit an existing Master Route Template.
When creating new or edit existing Recurring Schedule Rules, you can specify the time when the given rule will take effect and start generating Recurring Routes. NOTE: Make sure to specify the correct preferred Rule Start Time for your Recurring Schedule Rule(s). This will affect when your Recurring Routes will start being created (in advance).
In the Create Recurring Routes N Days in Advance field, you can specify how many days in advance Recurring Routes should be created (planned).
NOTE: By default, Recurring Routes are planned 1 hour before the Master Route Template scheduled route start time. To change the route start time of a Master Route, you need to edit the given Master Route Template.

When Creating a New Master Route Recurring Schedule – Schedule Delivery
When creating a new Master Route Recurring Schedule, in the Schedule Preview, dates in the light blue color show the dates for which Recurring Routes are scheduled to be planned. For example, if you specified that you want to Create Recurring Routes 10 Days in Advance from the current date, Route4Me will plan 10 future scheduled Recurring Routes before their scheduled Start Time and Date.
When Editing an Existing Master Route Recurring Schedule – (Re)Schedule Delivery
When editing an existing Master Route Recurring Schedule, in the Schedule Preview, dates in the dark blue color show the dates for which Recurring Routes have already been planned.
For example, if you previously specified that you want to Create Recurring Routes 10 Days in Advance, in the Schedule Preview, you will see that future scheduled Recurring Routes have been planned 10 days in advance of their scheduled Start Time and Date.
When editing an existing schedule, In the Schedule Preview, you can see the dates for which Recurring Routes are already planned (dark blue) and the dates for which Recurring Routes are scheduled to be planned (light blue). For example, if you set up a Daily Schedule (for every day) and specify to Create Recurring Routes 10 Days in Advance, 10 future Recurring Routes will be automatically planned dating from the next day from your current date and 10 days in advance.
NOTE: When you edit an existing Master Route – Recurring Schedule and change the Recurring Routes N Days in Advance settings, the new settings will override the previous settings: all already created Recurring Routes will be deleted and replaced with new recurring Routes planned based on the new Schedule rules and settings.
