Vehicle Statuses: Active, Pending, and Deleted Vehicles
Route4Me’s route planning and fleet management software supports multiple types of functional vehicle statuses. Vehicle statuses enable you to better manage your fleet and pay only for those vehicles that you are actually using. Accordingly, Route4Me supports the following three main vehicle statuses:
- Active: Active Vehicles that you can use for various route planning and fleet management operations. Therefore, Active Vehicles may be included in your subscription plan.
- Pending: You can import vehicles from various telematics vendors into your Route4Me account. Accordingly, all automatically imported telematics vehicles are saved as Pending Vehicles and can be used only after the activation.
- Deleted: You can deactivate vehicles to remove them from your fleet and exclude them from your subscription. You can activate or restore Deleted Vehicles at any time.
Table of Contents
Vehicles List With Vehicle Statuses
To open the list of all vehicles in your Route4Me fleet, go to “Vehicles” from the navigation menu to open the Vehicle Editor. Next, you can navigate through your vehicles with different statuses by going to the respective tabs in the Vehicle Editor. Correspondingly, in the Vehicle Editor, you can find the following tabs:
- The Active tab contains all active or activated vehicles.
- The Pending tab contains all pending (not activated) imported telematics vehicles.
- The Deleted tab contains all deactivated or deleted vehicles.
Active Vehicle Statuses
Firstly, in the Active Vehicles tab, you can view the list of all currently Active Vehicles. Accordingly, an Active Vehicle is a vehicle that is active and available for route planning, optimization, fleet management, and any other operations. For example, you can use Active Vehicles for:
- Dispatching planned routes to Active Vehicles or assign Active Vehicles to routes that are to be planned.
- Adjusting the vehicle settings or vehicle profile parameters.
- Optimizing routes for vehicles with specific vehicle parameters (i.e., commercial vehicles).
NOTE: Equally important, if your subscription includes modules or add-ons with per asset billing, then you may be billed for some of your Active Vehicles (assets). Therefore, if you have any questions about your vehicles’ billing, please contact the Route4Me Support Team.
Pending Vehicle Statuses
Secondly, in the Pending Vehicles tab, you can view the list of all vehicles imported from one or multiple telematics vendors. Accordingly, when you import vehicles from a telematics vendor into your Route4Me account, all imported vehicles automatically become available in the Pending Vehicles tab. In this way, you can automatically import hundreds of telematics vehicles and then activate only those that you want to include in your Route4Me fleet.
NOTE: Equally important, if your subscription includes modules or add-ons with per asset billing, you will not be billed for any of the vehicles in the Pending Vehicles tab.
Activate Pending Vehicles
You can’t edit or use Pending Vehicles for any route planning or fleet management operations. Therefore, to start using a Pending Vehicle, you need to activate this vehicle.
To activate a Pending Vehicle, click on the Checkmark icon next to the preferred vehicle. Furthermore, you can also activate multiple Pending Vehicles at a time. In particular, to activate multiple Pending Vehicles in bulk, select the preferred vehicles by checking the corresponding boxes and then click on the “Activate” button.
Thus, after you activate the given Pending Vehicles, these vehicles automatically become available in the Active Vehicles tab.
NOTE: If you delete a Pending Vehicle and then restore it from Deleted Vehicles, the restored vehicle will automatically become an Active Vehicle.
Deleted Vehicle Statuses
Thirdly, in the Deleted Vehicles tab, you can view the list of all deleted or deactivated vehicles. For example, you can delete or deactivate the vehicles that you want to remove from your active fleet or exclude from your subscription plan. You can’t edit, dispatch, or use Deleted Vehicles for any routing or fleet management operations.
NOTE: Accordingly, if your subscription plan includes modules or add-ons with per asset billing, you will not be billed for any of the deleted (deactivated) vehicles in the Deleted Vehicles tab.
To deactivate or delete an Active Vehicle, click on the Trash icon next to the preferred vehicle. Additionally, you can delete multiple Active Vehicles at a time. Specifically, select the vehicles you want to delete by checking the respective boxes and then click on the “Delete” button.
Restore Deleted Vehicles
Furthermore, you can restore your Deleted Vehicles at any time. Specifically, to restore a Deleted Vehicle, click on the Restore or Refresh icon next to the vehicle that you want to activate. Additionally, you can restore multiple Deleted Vehicles at a time. Namely, select the vehicles you want to restore by checking the respective boxes and then click on the “Restore” button.
NOTE: Accordingly, after you restore a Deleted Vehicle, this vehicle automatically becomes an Active Vehicle.
