Cross Border Routing – Plan International Routes And Disable Country Border Crossing

Enable Cross Border Routing – Plan International Routes That Cross Borders

When Cross Border Routing is enabled on your account, Route4Me’s Best International Route Planner will automatically plan routes across national borders. Specifically, when you plan routes with addresses in multiple countries, the Route4Me Software will automatically optimize the best destination sequence and plan the most efficient routes that cross country borders. NOTE: To enable Cross Border Routing on your account, contact Route4Me Support.

When Cross Border Routing is enabled on your account, Route4Me's Best International Route Planner will automatically plan routes across national borders.

 

In detail, to plan a new international route, go to “Routes” and then “Plan New Route” in the Navigation Menu. Next, you can select the preferred method for adding your international addresses. For your convenience, Route4Me supports multiple methods for uploading, importing, and adding addresses. Specifically, you can select addresses with the Interactive Map Editor, copy and paste addresses, upload address spreadsheets, import addresses from the cloud, and upload scanned addresses.

After selecting the preferred method for adding addresses, you can specify the preferred route and optimization settings. To plan cross-border routes, you can skip selecting a profile and manually customize your route and optimization settings. Furthermore, you can learn how to Create and Use Route4Me’s Optimization Profiles. To plan an international route, click the “Skip” button to manually customize your route and optimization settings.

Select a custom Route Optimization Profile to automatically plan and optimize routes with predefined route settings.

 

After that, click the “Directions” tab and make sure the “Avoid cross-border routing” box is unchecked to allow Cross Border Routing. Next, click the “Create Route and Proceed to Add Addresses” button and plan routes as usual. Route4Me will automatically geocode your international addresses and create the most optimal sequence addresses across country borders.

Disable Cross Border Routing – Plan Routes In Different Countries Without Crossing Borders

Large businesses and medium-sized businesses that operate internationally may want to plan routes in different countries without crossing national borders. For your convenience, Route4Me enables you to turn off Cross Border Routing at the touch of a button. To plan routes in different countries without crossing borders, go to “Routes” and then “Plan New Route” in the Navigation Menu and select your preferred method for adding addresses. Then, you can manually specify your preferred route and optimization settings by clicking the “Skip” button when prompted to select an Optimization Profile.

Select a custom Route Optimization Profile to automatically plan and optimize routes with predefined route settings.

 

After that, click the “Directions” tab and check the “Avoid cross-border routing” box to disable Cross Border Routing. Next, click the “Create Route and Proceed to Add Addresses” button and plan routes as usual. Route4Me will automatically geocode your international addresses and create the most optimal sequence of customer destinations without crossing country borders.

Route4Me enables you to easily disable Cross Border Routing at the touch of a button to plan routes in different countries without crossing national borders.

 

When you plan routes with international addresses and disable Cross Border Routing, your Trusted International Route Planner plans a route with all destinations in the country where the start address is located. Addresses across the border in a country other than where the depot is located are added to an “Unrouted Destinations” route. This additional route can be optimized separately by adding a depot or route origin address in the country where the destinations are located. You can easily do so in the Route Editor or Routes Map and then re-optimize the respective route to ensure the most optimal address sequence.

When planning routes with international addresses and Cross Border Routing disabled, Route4Me will automatically plan a a complete route in the country where the route depot or origin is located and create an Unrouted Destinations route in the other country.
