Quick Steps to Plan, Sequence, and Complete a Route on iPad App

To plan a new route on your Route4Me iPad Multi-Stop Route Planner app, go to the app’s main menu and tap the “Add New Route” button. Alternatively, go to “Routes” in the app’s main menu and then tap the “Add New Route” button. After that, you can name your route, schedule the route for the preferred date and time, and specify the route’s optimization settings.

Next, tap the “Enter Start Address” field to add the route’s start point and then add route addresses. In detail, you can add addresses with address autocomplete, OCR address scanner, import addresses from Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud, etc.

Furthermore, you can add more stop information, such as additional address details (i.e., floor, apartment, etc.), set the stop’s Alias, Phone Number, Stop Type, and Visit Duration (Service Time).

After adding addresses, tap and hold the “Hold to Plan Route” button to optimize and sequence the route.

Once the route is optimized, you can easily start, navigate, and complete your route. First, tap and hold the “Hold to Start Route” button. After that, tap the stop you want to visit and then tap the “Navigate” button. Next, you can navigate to the stop using Route4Me’s In-App Voice-Guided Navigation, Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, and other GPS navigation apps.

As you navigate the route, you can add statuses to route stops and attach proof of visit, delivery, or service. To do so, tap the “Arrived” button next to the stop, and then tap the “Set Status” button. Next, you can select the preferred stop status and attach an electronic signature, text note, image, photo, video, and other data to the stop. When you end your route, Route4Me will automatically provide detailed route statistics and KPIs for the completed route.

Route Settings, Optimization Types, and Travel Modes on iPad App

To start planning a new route on the iPad mobile app, set up the preferred route and optimization settings. In detail, you can name and schedule the route, enable or disable Route Optimization for stop sequencing, select an optimization type and travel mode, and more. Next, you can enable or disable Route Optimization for route address sequencing. To enable Route Optimization, tap “Route Optimization” and then switch on the “Enable Route Optimization” toggle. Accordingly, when Route Optimization is enabled, the app will automatically sequence addresses for the most optimal visitation order based on the specified settings.

After enabling Route Optimization, you can select the preferred route end option, optimization settings type, and route directions travel mode. After setting up route and optimization settings on the iPad app, you can add route addresses and stops. For your convenience, you can add addresses individually or import multiple addresses in spreadsheets. In detail, you can use address autocomplete, the OCR address scanner, dictate addresses with voice, import addresses from iPad, OneDrive, iCloud, Google Drive, or Dropbox, etc. Furthermore, you can add and import addresses into planned routes and re-optimize them at any time.

 

Current Location – Add Your Location as Route Start or Stop on iPad App

You can add your current location as the route’s start address. First, tap the “Enter Start Address” field and tap “Current Location“. Then, Route4Me will automatically suggest the nearest valid address you can choose. Additionally, you can use other methods for adding the route’s start address or insert your current location as a route stop.

Address Autocomplete – Automatically Complete and Geocode Addresses on iPad App

To enter addresses manually, tap the “Enter Address” field and then start entering a full or partial address. The app will automatically validate and suggest available autocompleted and geocoded address options. After choosing one of the suggested addresses, you can add more stop information, such as additional address details (i.e., floor, apartment, etc.), set the stop’s Alias, Phone Number, Stop Type, and Visit Duration (Service Time).

Voice Dictation – Add Addresses and Stops Using Voice to Text on iPad App

To add route addresses with voice dictation or speech-to-text, tap the “Enter Address” field and then tap the Microphone Icon. After that, dictate a full or partial address, and the app will automatically suggest the available geocoded and autocompleted address options. Next, select the preferred address, and then add more stop information, such as additional address details (i.e., floor, apartment, etc.), set the stop’s Alias, Phone Number, Stop Type, and Visit Duration (Service Time).

OCR Scanner – Scan Addresses with Optical Character Recognition Scanner on iPad App

To quickly add stops, instead of entering addresses manually, you can scan addresses using Route4Me’s Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Address Scanner. To do so, tap the “Enter Address” field and then tap the Camera Icon. After that, point your camera at the address and tap the Camera Icon to add the scanned address. Next, you can adjust the scanned address and add more stop information, such as additional address details (i.e., floor, apartment, etc.), set the stop’s Alias, Phone Number, Stop Type, and Visit Duration (Service Time).

iPad Contacts – Add Addresses to Route from Contacts in iPad Address Book

To add addresses from your iPad contacts, tap the “Enter Address” field and then tap the “Connect Contacts” button. Next, you can start entering addresses or contact names from your iPad address book, and the app will automatically suggest the corresponding available contact addresses. NOTE: To use your iPad address book contacts for adding route stops, make sure your contacts have valid addresses.

After that, you can adjust and add more stop information, such as additional address details (i.e., floor, apartment, etc.), set the stop’s Alias, Phone Number, Stop Type, and Visit Duration (Service Time).

Import Addresses – Upload CSV and XLS Spreadsheets from iPad, iCloud, Google Drive

To easily import multiple addresses, you can upload CSV, XLS, or XLSX spreadsheets. To do so, tap the “Enter Address” field and then tap the “Import Addresses” button. Next, select the preferred source and upload your spreadsheet from iPad, iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. After importing the spreadsheet, Route4Me will automatically geocode and autocomplete your addresses. Plan Route – Sequence Added and Imported Addresses on iPad Route Planner App

To plan or optimize your route after adding addresses, tap and hold the “Hold to Plan Route” button. Accordingly, if Route Optimization is enabled, Route4Me will optimize the route and automatically sequence all addresses based on the specified settings. If Route Optimization is disabled, Route4Me will plan the route, and addresses will remain in the same sequence in which they were added or imported. After planning or optimizing the route, you can tap the route’s header to check the route’s duration, distance, number of stops, and other details.

After planning or optimizing the route, you can seamlessly start, navigate, and complete your route. Apple Maps Route Planner GPS Navigation for Route4Me iPad App-Sequenced Routes

To use Apple Maps Route Planner Navigation, select the “Apple Maps” option. Additionally, you can choose to navigate to the stop’s address or GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude). For example, you can use location GPS coordinates to navigate to locations that don’t have an address. After that, Route4Me will automatically send the stop’s address to the Apple Maps navigation app. Next, you can preview your Apple Maps route and start the navigation.

Google Maps Route Planner GPS Navigation for Route4Me iPad App-Sequenced Routes

To use Google Maps Route Planner Navigation, select the “Google Maps” option. Additionally, you can choose to navigate to the stop’s address or GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude). For example, you can use location GPS coordinates to navigate to locations that don’t have an address. After that, Route4Me will automatically send the stop’s address to the Google Maps navigation app. Next, you can preview your Google Maps route and start the navigation.

Add Stop Statuses and Attach Proof of Visit, Delivery, and Service on iPad App

Furthermore, as you navigate your route and arrive at route stops, you can add statuses and attach proof of visit, delivery, and service. First, tap the “Arrived” and then the “Set Status” button next to the stop.

Complete Route – End Route and Check Route Statistics and KPIs on iPad App

After visiting all stops on your route and adding stop statuses, the app automatically prompts you to end your route. To manually end your route, tap the “End Route” button at the bottom of the Stops List. If there are stops without a status (unvisited stops), you can add statuses to such stops and then end the route.
