Manage Address Search Groups – Address Book Map

Your Route4Me Address Book (List/Map) is a centralized database where you and your team of route planners, dispatchers, field sales reps, field employees, field service representatives, and other field employees can securely store and manage the information about thousands of customers’ locations, depots, commercial facilities, warehouses, and any other relevant prospects or real-world locations. Once you have all that data saved on your account, you also need to be able to properly structure, filter, and use it for your particular business needs or unique business model. Route4Me’s Advanced Search Groups Add-On enables you to filter search addresses and use your customizable search groups for planning optimized routescolor coding addressesdownloading entire search groups with addresses, and more. The Address Book Map also allows you to add more addresses into existing search groups right from the map and provides flexible tools to view, compare, re-size, modify, and filter search addresses within your search groups in one place.

 

To view and edit your search groups, first, go to “Address Book Map” from the navigation menu.

By default, the Address Book Map displays all addresses from your synchronized Address Book on the map (without search groups).

To display particular search groups on the map, check the boxes next to these search groups in the list and then the addresses contained in the selected search groups will be displayed on the map in the corresponding colors. Learn more about how to create advanced search groups.

To view and/or edit the constraints (rules and groups) of a particular search group, first, click to open this search group in the list and then make the preferred changes accordingly. Learn more about how to set up search group constraints.

To view and/or edit the constraints (rules and groups) of a particular search group in the full-screen mode, click on the corresponding icon next to this search group.

After that, make the preferred modifications and then click on the “OK” button to apply the changes.

To rename a particular search group, first, click on the current name of this search group and then make the preferred changes accordingly.

To change the color in which the addresses included into a particular search group are displayed on the map, click on the color icon next to the name of this search group and then select the preferred color from the list.

To remove a particular search group from the Address Book Map, first, click on the gear icon next to this search group in the list and then select “Delete” from the menu.

After that, click on the corresponding button to confirm the action.

NOTE: When you delete a particular search group, you delete this search group and its filtering settings only while the addresses from this search group are not affected in any way. To view the addresses from the deleted search group on the map, make sure you disable all other search groups so that you can view all addresses from your Address Book without filtering constraints.

To delete all addresses of a particular search group, first, make sure that this search group is displayed on the map and then use one of the drawing tools in the top left corner of the map to draw an area around the addresses that you want to delete. After that, right-click on this area and then select “Remove Area Addresses” from its menu.

To delete addresses from multiple search groups at a time, first, make sure that these search groups are displayed on the map and then draw an area around the addresses that you want to delete. Next, right-click on this area and then select “Remove Area Addresses” from the area’s menu. NOTE: When you delete addresses from the Address Book Map, these addresses are permanently deleted from your account. Learn more about how to delete addresses from the Address Book Map.

To add more addresses into a particular search group, you need to add the addresses that match the filter parameters of the corresponding search group into your synchronized Address Book. To pick a particular street address from the map and save it into your Address Book, first, right-click on this address on the map and then select the “Add The Nearest Valid Address” option. You can also save latitude and longitude coordinates of any location on the map as an entry in your Address Book. Learn more about how to add addresses into your Address Book using the map.

If you want the addresses that you are picking from the map to be automatically added to a particular search group, make sure that these addresses meet the conditions defined in the corresponding search group. In the example below, the address that is being added to the Address Book meets the conditions defined in the “Group 001” search group.

Once the address is saved into your Address Book and it also meets the conditions defined in a particular search group, you can enable this search group and the added address will be displayed on the map accordingly.
