Android Image Attachments – Attaching Photos to Your Route Destinations Using Route4Me’s Android Route Planner
Route4Me’s Android Route Planner is designed to make your routing operations and transactions as fast and flexible as possible, allowing you to plan, optimize, and navigate routes of any complexity on the go. A picture is worth a thousand words – taking a picture is much faster, more time-efficient and more informative than making regular text notes. To make sure that you are always on the same page with your team and your customers, Route4Me allows you to capture and attach photos to your notes as proof of delivery (POD) or proof of service (POS). Thus, your remote team members can take photos of the services that they performed so that they can be evaluated, attach images of the returned or damaged goods, take photos of delivery and pickup locations or delivered and picked up goods, record the state of the transported packages or their company vehicle, and so on. Depending on the particular needs of your business or unique business model, being able to attach photos to route stops can help you to significantly increase the security of your routing operations, improve team communication, and minimize legal risks. All photos that are captured and uploaded using Route4Me’s Android app are securely stored on Route4Me’s remote servers and cannot be deleted or altered by other users. Photos can be attached to route stops with notes. Thus, to attach a photo from your device or take a new photo with your device camera and attach it to a particular route stop, first, open the corresponding route. To do so, go to “My Routes” from the navigation menu and then select the preferred route.
After that, tap on the note icon next to the stop to which you want to attach an image. Alternatively, tap on the stop and then select “Add Note” from the stop’s menu.
Next, fill out the contents of the note and then select the note’s status. After that, you can select the image from your phone or take a new photo. To select an image from your device, tap on the “Select from Photo Gallery” button (make sure that your Route4Me Android app has the permission to access your gallery) → navigate through the folders on your device to find the photo you want to attach to the note → tap on the preferred photo to upload it from your device into the note (max 50 MB per image).
To take and attach a new photo, after filling out the contents of the note and selecting the note’s status, tap on the “Capture Picture” button to launch the camera app on your device and then take the preferred photo accordingly (make sure that your Route4Me Android app has the permission to use the camera).
Once the image is added to the note, it is displayed at the bottom of the note’s screen. After filling out the note’s details and attaching the preferred photo (max 50 MB per image), tap on the checkmark icon in the top right corner of the screen to save the note with the image. NOTE: You can attach one image per note. If you need to capture multiple photos for one route stop, you can add multiple notes.
To view the note with the attached image, tap on the note icon next to the corresponding route stop. Alternatively, tap on the stop that you want to check and then select “Show Notes” from the menu.
Next, tap on the note that you want to check to open its details. NOTE: For security purposes, notes and notes’ contents (i.e., images, signatures, etc.) cannot be deleted or altered in any way by other users. All captured and uploaded photos are securely stored on Route4Me’s remote servers.
Notes with captured and uploaded photos can also be viewed from the Route4Me Web Platform. To do so, once the image is attached to the note and the note is added to a particular route stop, open the corresponding route stop on the Route4Me Web Platform and scroll to the “Notes” section. Photos attached using the Route4Me Android app are saved as JPG files. To view or download the attached image from the corresponding note, click on the “View JPG” button accordingly.
