Generating Orders from the Address Book Map and Planning Routes with Generated Orders on an iPhone
With Route4Me’s iPhone app, you can generate orders right from the interactive map and then use those orders for planning and optimizing routes. To generate orders from locations on the map, first, go to “More” from the navigation menu and then select “Synced Address Book” from the list.
Next, tap on the map icon in the top right corner of the screen to open the Address Book Map.
After that, tap and hold on any location on the map that you want to save as an order. When you use this feature, the app automatically picks the nearest valid address located next to the selected spot on the map.
After selecting the location, instead of adding it into the Address Book as a contact, tap on “Generate Order” in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Next, fill out the details of the order and then tap “Add” in the top right corner of the screen to save the order. You can learn more about filling out order details on this page.
Once you generated multiple orders from particular locations on the Address Book Map, you can use them for planning routes. To do so, first, go to “More” from the navigation menu and then select “Orders” from the list.
Next, select the orders that you want to use for planning the route by checking the corresponding boxes. Alternatively, tap “Select All” to select all orders in the list.
After selecting the orders that you want to include into the route, tap “New Route” in the bottom right corner of the screen.
After that, specify the route’s parameters and then tap on the “Plan Route” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. To learn more about specifying route parameters, visit this page.
Once the route is planned and optimized, it is saved into the synchronized Routes List with all other routes. To learn how to edit planned routes, visit this page.
