Add Notes with POD to Route Stops – iPhone Route Planner App

Route4Me’s iPhone Route Planner is designed to make your route planning operations and transactions as fast and flexible as possible, allowing you to effortlessly plan, optimize, and navigate routes of any complexity on the go. Route4Me also enables you to build a well-structured and easily-manageable network of users with different roles and account-level permissions. To make sure that you are always on the same page with your team and your customers, Route4Me allows you to add notes with stop statuses and custom descriptions to your route destinations. Moreover, with Route4Me’s iPhone route planning app, you can also attach photos, videos, audio recordings, and customers’ electronic signatures to your routes as proof of delivery (POD) or proof of service (POS). Thus, when your remote team members are out in the field, they are able to frictionlessly capture all types of actionable intelligence that will help you to increase the efficiency and security of your routing operations, improve team communication, and minimize legal risks. In addition to that, Route4Me’s iPhone app also enables you to save a lot of money on such equipment as special signature capture pads, photo or video cameras, and other expensive equipment that can be replaced by a smartphone. In other words, your delivery drivers, field service technicians, field sales reps, or other employees in the field will be able to use the Route4Me route planner as an electronic proof of delivery app as well.
To use the electronic proof of delivery app function and add one or multiple notes to a particular route, first, open this route by going to Routes from the navigation menu and then selecting the preferred route from your Routes List.
After opening the preferred route, tap on the note icon next to the route stop to which you want to add a note and then tap on the Add a Note button accordingly.
To add a particular stop status to the note, first, tap on the corresponding drop-down list and then select the preferred status.
To add custom text to the note, first, tap on the corresponding text field and then input the preferred text accordingly.
Electronic Signature Capture
To use the route planner app as an electronic proof of delivery app and add a captured signature to the note, first, tap on the signature icon.
Next, let the customer sign on your device and then tap on the Done button in the top right corner of the screen to add the captured signature to the note. Once the note’s details are filled out and the customer’s signature is attached to the note, tap on the Done button in the top right corner of the screen to save the note with the signature. NOTE: You can attach one signature per note. If you need to capture multiple signatures at one route stop, you can add multiple notes.
Notes with captured signatures can also be viewed from the Route4Me Web Platform. To do so, once the signature is captured and added to a particular route stop with a note, open the corresponding route stop on the Route4Me Web Platform and scroll to the Notes section. Signatures captured using the Route4Me iPhone app are saved as PNG files. To view or download the captured signature from the corresponding note, click on the View PNG button accordingly.
Video Attachments as Electronic Proof of Delivery
To capture a video and attach it to the note, tap on the camera icon to launch the camera app on your iPhone (make sure that your Route4Me iPhone app has the permission to use your camera) and then switch to the video mode accordingly.
After that, record the preferred video using the camera app on your iPhone and then tap on the Use Video button to add the captured video recording to the note.
Once the video is added to the note, it is displayed at the bottom of the note’s screen. After filling out the note’s details and attaching the preferred video (max 200 MB per video), tap on the Done button in the top right corner of the screen to save the note with the attached video. NOTE: You can attach one video per note. If you need to attach multiple videos to one route stop, you can add multiple notes.
Notes with captured and uploaded videos can also be viewed from the Route4Me Web Platform. To do so, once the video is attached to the note and the note is added to a particular route stop, open the corresponding route stop on the Route4Me Web Platform and scroll to the Notes section. Videos attached to notes using the Route4Me iPhone app are saved as MOV files. To view or download the attached video from the corresponding note, click on the View MOV button accordingly.
Image Attachments as Electronic Proof of Delivery
To select an image from your device and attach it to the note, tap on the photo icon (make sure that your Route4Me iPhone app has the permission to access your gallery) → navigate through the folders on your device to find the photo you want to attach to the note → tap on the preferred photo to upload it from your device into the note (max 50 MB per image).
To take a new photo and attach it to the note, after filling out the note’s contents, tap on the camera icon to launch the camera app on your iPhone (make sure that your Route4Me iPhone app has the permission to use your camera).
Next, take the preferred photo using the camera app on your iPhone and then tap on the Use Photo button to add the captured image to the note.
Once the image is added to the note, it is displayed at the bottom of the note’s screen. After filling out the note’s details and attaching the preferred photo (max 50 MB per image), tap on the Done button in the top right corner of the screen to save the note with the image. NOTE: You can attach one image per note. If you need to capture multiple photos for one route stop, you can add multiple notes.

To do so, once the image is attached to the note and the note is added to a particular route stop, open the corresponding route stop on the Route4Me Web Platform and scroll to the Notes section. Photos attached using the Route4Me iPhone app are saved as PNG files. To view or download the attached image from the corresponding note, click on the View PNG button accordingly.
Sound Attachments as Electronic Proof of Delivery
To capture and attach audio to the note, first, tap on the microphone icon to launch the microphone app on your iPhone (make sure that your Route4Me iPhone app has permission to use your microphone).
After that, record the preferred audio using the microphone on your iPhone and then tap on the Done button to attach the recorded sound to the note.
Once the audio is added to the note, it is displayed at the bottom of the note’s screen. After filling out the note’s details and attaching the preferred audio (max 200 MB per sound attachment), tap on the Done button in the top right corner of the screen to save the note with the attached audio. NOTE: You can attach one audio recording per note. If you need to attach multiple audio recordings to one route stop, you can add multiple notes.
Notes with captured and uploaded sound attachments can also be viewed from the Route4Me Web Platform. To do so, once the audio is attached to the note and the note is added to a particular route stop, open the corresponding route stop on the Route4Me Web Platform and scroll to the Notes section. Audio files attached to notes using the Route4Me iPhone app are saved as M4A files. To view or download the attached audio from the corresponding note, click on the View M4A button accordingly.
Thus, with Route4Me, you can add multiple notes to a single stop with attached videos, audio files, signatures, and images.
